Do you see any games on the horizon that are WOW killers?
Some say Warhammer online, but I have my doubts.
Some have talked about Age of Conan, but from what I've heard it's more hype than good.

Re: WOW Killers
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 1:26 AMI was asking this same question when I was addicted to D&D online in 1/2007. I would still be there but a co worker talked me into WoW so here I am. DDO was forgotten as quickly as that time I made a fool of myself at the bar. I love this game and unless I hear something first hand about another game ill still probably be here. Games come and go and i think the reasons people change are as fickle as why someone puts on a blue shirt instead of a grey one....but thats just me. -

Re: WOW Killers
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 3:05 AMAs I see it, Blizzard has such an incredible budget, the next big MMO will probably be their doing as well. While many of the newcomers may succeed and do very well, I can't see them beating WoW.

Re: WOW Killers
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 7:01 AMI think Age of Conan is going to have a hard time competing with WoW simply because of the nudity and violence. There are a lot of kids who play WoW (and I think ALL of them were playing this past weekend on my servers...) and many parents aren't going to be so willing to let them play AoC.
Plus, for people like myself, I'm not going to go out and buy a new computer just so I can play a game. Eventually I'll need a new computer because MS won't support XP forever, but til then WoW is about the meatiest program my system can run - (and I was pissed because after the last patch I had to go out & buy a new video card because my old one kept crashing - to my knowledge they still haven't resolved that issue). -

Fri, May 2, 2008 - 2:28 PMconan looks pretty good. I am COMPLETELY for age restrictions, or parental permission required. I play City of Heroes / Villains and the need for age verification, etc. is awesome.

Re: WOW Killers
Fri, May 2, 2008 - 10:20 AMI believe as far as meaty game worlds go, WoW will hold that title for some time still. Though I have seen the trailer for Assassin's Creed and saw a video interview & review on it and as far as computer graphics & game engines goes it looks like the next level. I hear that they are coming out with a PC version of Assassin's Creed this coming Fall. I look forward to it. But I still think Blizzard will continue to hold the throne on MMORG games & I have too much time & energy invested in my Toon to just dump her.
