I was boppin along in Darkshore on my new rogue when I saw someone starting towards a mine node outside a cave where I happen to know that mobs ambush you.
Sure enough, he started fighting one and 3 others came out. I went in to help. He stopped fighting after the first mob was dead... mined the node... and LEFT!!!!
I died.
I whispered to him... "thanks... not like I was trying to help you or anything."
He said back... "If you wanted to be in a group, you should have invited me."
I proceded to explain to him that I wasn't talking about being in a group...that I had tried to help him and he split and let me die. I also told him he better not pull that crap when he got to higher levels.
=)
He came back to where my body was and I guess he was going to help... but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction so I just went back and rezzed at the graveyard and logged out.
what a poo-poo-head

Re: grumble...grumble.... Etiquete
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 4:58 PMI've had horde chars stop and help me, laugh, and then kill me themselves. And then yesterday I was in Mana Forge B'naar getting me ass kicked and some horde landed saved my ass, and then flew away before I could even bow.
Moral of the story...people are funny sometimes with help :p

Re: grumble...grumble.... Etiquete
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 5:36 PMSince I play an on RPG server, we don't encounter the type of drama/griefing that happens on PvP realms. There still exists an unbridled lack of manners, though. Usually what we get is people who will steal your quest item if it's something that has to be looted off the ground and you have to clear some mobs to get to it, especially in higher level content where things get kind of crowded sometimes. I just alter my tactics so I can get the item first before mobs come beating down on me (helps to play a pet or cc class).
In the long run, being that sort of asshat comes at a price. Everyone you pissed off on the realm knows who you are, and hiding behind a new toon means you have to start leveling all over again. Either way, it'll be a long time before you would ever be accepted into a group that is going to put up with you in a high level instance or raid. -

Re: grumble...grumble.... Etiquete
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 6:47 PMI hate to say it.......at level 70 it's even worse.
Worse because they should know better.
For example: NINJA ISLAND and the ninja island dailies, or as Bliz calls them the Shattered Sun Offensive.
The problem is not that normal humans are like this, the problem is because WOW is so popular we get a very high population of retarded dorks who have never been in the real world. -

Sat, May 10, 2008 - 4:18 AMTry playing on a pve server where allie asshole flag and stand on quest contacts, trying to get some hapless quester to flag just for griefing gankage.
As a rogue, I do get to enact some justice. Never try to ninja a vein from a rogue with mobs present - EVER. ;)

Re: grumble...grumble.... Etiquete
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 8:49 AMI'm on a PvP realm, so when allies do this sort of stuff to me I often do get a chance to exact revenge. When my own horde does however, it's much more difficult. There are a couple fun things I can do to that end, but not much. One "fellow" hunter ninja looted a mana cell from me in blade's edge, so I hunted him down to put blessing of salvation on his pet. ;) I wonder if he ever figured out why his pet would lose aggro so fast after that, lol. -

Re: grumble...grumble.... Etiquete
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 3:38 PMCan't you just Pallie bubble somebody trying to ninja your mining veins on PVP server? Should give them the "You can't do that right now".
When people pull the ninja trip with me they get a rather nasty PST. Sometimes it's an accident, sometimes I get attitude. I've gone so far as to let officers know when somebody in their guild is being a douche bag. If the officer has a 'tude about it, I've put the entire guild in "no assist" status. That means no party, no help, no buying, no chanting, etc.
Dealing with opposing faction being douchebags is part of the game. Shouldn't have to deal with your own faction acting up.
Now if they would add in same Faction PK's... oh man.. that would rule.

Sun, May 11, 2008 - 3:49 PMDammit, I forgot about that.
I could have used that today, while I was protecting my druid buddy doing the fishing competition. Walk around bubbling fellow horde members so they can't fish, lol. -

Unfortunately, normal *anonymous* humans on the internet are like this. . . . . and the kiddie factor in WoW only amplifies it. -

Re: grumble...grumble.... Etiquete
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 2:40 PMAh yes, the eternal online equation:
Internet access + perceived anonymity = instant asshole
I had a pretty good laugh the other day - I was trying to get a Druid toon to lvl 10 for the orphan quest & was after 'Fizzle's Claw' in Durotar. These two guys ran past me into the canyon where Fizzle and all his adds are... they were in such a hurry to grab Fizzle before I could that they ran straight into the group of orc warlocks and voidwalkers, plus Fizzle and his imp and died. I don't know if they thought I had cleared out more of the adds than I had or what, but one of them whispered, "Why didn't you try to heal us?" I replied with something along the lines of, "Well, you didn't look like you wanted my help, ROFL"
