I just can't bring myself to give a shit anymore, honestly. I've levelled alts, I've raided endgame (some of it, anyway; I'm not patient enough to deal with the 'work week' of the hardcore crap), and all I've ever really enjoyed out of the game is... being on vent and laughing over stupid shit with friends, and I can do that anywhere.
Is anyone else feeling that the expansion is a bit too little, too late?

Re: Anyone else not planning on picking up WotLK?
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 11:20 PMYeah I with you on that.
I can't seem to give a shit to compete with people who have no lives. The ones that are gearing up constantly, earning gold constantly, online when I log on and still there when I log off.
Then they go on the official forums and do battle of the Nerd egos on how much they know etc about the game.
I'm just not that nerdy, and not that willing to sacrifice my life to compete with hard core nerds who obviously have either ADD or something.
LOL
Warhammer online comes out at the same time.

Re: Anyone else not planning on picking up WotLK?
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 11:49 PMI will probably pick it up - I play WoW strictly for fun. I like to roam the Barrens at 4am and look at the stars. I like the giraffes. I like the weird things the NPCs say. I'm constantly picking up on the puns - like the tortoises in Steamwheedle - Torta and Tooga - I just figured that one out last night, rofl. It lets me unwind, and I don't get burnt out by constant grinding because work and school constantly interrupt my WoW time.
I do think they need to bring in new stuff more often - it seems like a looooong time to wait. The only thing that really annoys me about WoW is the distance between flight paths and the fact that the instances don't have a random dungeon generator - same guy, same place, every time.
I've lost my husband to Age of Conan - he can have topless chicks and necromancers... (I don't get much from him regarding the actual game play, just that there are topless chicks and necromancers) He'll probably wait for my verdict to see if he wants to reactivate his WoW account for WoTLK -

Re: Anyone else not planning on picking up WotLK?
Sat, May 24, 2008 - 9:16 AMConan? Just got it. Like it for the soloing aspects, especially. Still learning the maneuvers, but I've only had it for a day and only played for two hours. I wish there were pant-less boys instead of topless girls. LOL
WoW expansion... I'm taking a break from WoW off and on. My friends are server jumpers and toon junkies. They have more toons on servers... I can't keep up. BUT we're a relaxed, non-nerdego guild and usually end up talking about life and things outside the game while we play. They are in Canada (Why do I always end up with Canadian gamers??? I don't care, they are so much fun) so it's a way to have fun, play with distant friends and talk too!
Maybe I'll pick up the expansion when it comes out.

Sat, May 24, 2008 - 9:57 AMRoFl! The first thing my husband does when he gets a new game is strips his characters down to their skivvies. He's like that perverted kid who had a room full of nekkid Barbies & GI Joes laying around. -

Re: Anyone else not planning on picking up WotLK?
Mon, May 26, 2008 - 12:51 PMI wasn't feeling very excited about the Expac until hey made the raid chance announcement...
All raids will be 10 or 25. Same content. This will give casual players the ability to see everything without making WoW seem like a second job.
The other thing of course is making a Deathknight which will start at level 55. I have been wanting to play that class since WoW launched. In fact, I had originally thought that Warlocks were going to be a necromancer type of class and was disappointed when they weren't. So, those two aspects make it appealing.
I really hope, but i doubt, that blizz will be smart this time about gear progression and not make the level 71 greens more powerful that T6 purples.

Re: Anyone else not planning on picking up WotLK?
Mon, May 26, 2008 - 1:41 PMI hate ...HATE farming for gear, but I really want to try the Death Knight out. Druids + Priests + Pallies are all faeries imo =^P -

Re: Anyone else not planning on picking up WotLK?
Mon, May 26, 2008 - 6:37 PMI will be all about the Death Knight in the expansion. I chose my paladin in large part because they got their powers from an imprisoned angel in the basement of their city... then they got all lame and M'uru go, pledging their loyalty to A'dal. The whole point in roleplaying for me is to play the manipulative, deceptive evil character that I can't be in real life. :D
